We the Kings
(formerly 'Broken Image', 'De Soto') is an American indie power pop band from Bradenton, Florida. They are currently signed to the independent label S-Curve Records (distributed by EMI Music),[1] and their debut full-length was released in October 2007.

History
The band members first met at Martha B. King Middle School in Bradenton, Florida; their name refers to this institution.[2] The group began playing together while at Manatee High School in the early 2000s, and landed on the PureVolume Top 10 list after hiring a manager.[2] After continuing success via internet sites such as MySpace, the group signed to S-Curve Records, who issued their debut self-titled album on October 2, 2007.[3][4][5] The album peaked at #3 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart and #151 on the Billboard 200.[6] The band has toured with bands such as Cobra Starship, Valencia, Just Surrender, Metro Station, Boys Like Girls, All Time Low, The Audition,[2] Cute Is What We Aim For, Madina Lake, Mayday Parade, and Powerspace. The song "This Is Our Town" is featured in commercials for the new season of One Tree Hill, and on the Hit Show Newport Harbor. On February 4th, their song "Check Yes Juliet" was featured as the free single of the week on iTunes. On April 8th, their song "Check Yes Juliet" was featured in an episode of MTV's The Hills.

It has been announced that We the Kings will be performing all dates during Warped Tour 2008. [7]

We the Kings played on their first headlining tour "Long Hair Don't Care" with Valencia, The Cab, Sing It Loud, and Charlotte Sometimes during the month of April.

In May/June We The Kings supported Cute Is What We Aim For and Boys Like Girls on their UK tour.

In May, the group reaped kudos in Billboard magazine from single reviews editor Chuck Taylor, who wrote: "MySpace heroes We the Kings, who banded earlier in the decade at Martha B. King Middle School—thus the name—reached No. 3 on Heatseekers in October with a self-titled indie CD on S-Curve. Simple Plan-sound-alike power pop-punk anthem "Check Yes Juliet" is now on target for a top 40 bull's-eye. In February, the song was given ultimate props as free single of the week on iTunes and subsequently featured on MTV's "The Hills." Momentum built with a spot on the Vans Warped tour and headlining trek in April. Lyrically, the song is a major connector with its target, empathizing with young lovers looking to liaison, despite detractors. Quartet Kings is set up nicely to be a new crowned prince of radio. Systems go."
